With gratitude to God for the time He gave Pastor (Uncle) Remi Daniel on earth. We thank God for the life of Uncle Remi, a principled man, a man of faith, wisdom, strength, and dignity. He was gentle and quiet, but his presence was reassuring and his impact was mighty. He was stern when he needed to be, yet caring and compassionate. I will always cherish the memories of the rides with him and Jumoke to the Redeemed Christian Church of God Holy Ghost Service, every first Friday of the month. Those journeys were more than just rides; they were filled with conversations, laughter, prayers, and wise counsel that I still carry with me. Uncle Remi was never one to tell you only what you wanted to hear. Whether you asked or not, he would tell you the truth and somehow, it always made you think deep, do better and do right. He advised on marriage, finances, children, and life, speaking with the wisdom and care of a father. I am also grateful that he was with us at ma Prince, Kayode’s 50th birthday and prayed with him. That is a memory I will always treasure. My heart especially goes out to my dear friend and sister, Jumoke. Their marriage was one of true friendship, love, and commitment. They loved, laughed, prayed, cried, smiled at each other, and showed up for each other. They complemented each other beautifully and were wonderful parents, teaching their children to know, love, and trust God through all things and in all situations. I pray that our God will continue to uphold, comfort, strengthen, and protect Jumoke, the children, his aged mother, and the entire family. May He keep them in His peace, draw them even closer to Himself, and usher them into a new season, carrying them with the strength and wisdom that has been given them. I cover them with the blood of Jesus and we are most certain they will remain secure in the love of God. May Uncle Remi’s legacy continue to speak through them. Though we mourn his passing, we remain grateful that God gave Uncle Remi the privilege of living a life of purpose and impact, faithfully serving in the Kingdom. Rest now in the presence of the Lord you loved and served so faithfully. With long life in great abundance of good health and great wealth will God satisfy Jumoke and the children in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Love from Kayode & Tokunbo Giwa-Amu

Barrister Andrew Aderemi Daniel, Uncle Remi as I fondly called him, came into my life when he married my dear friend, Jumoke. I became especially close to the family when I moved to Fola Agoro and we became walking-distance neighbours. Those years gave us many memories of friendship, laughter and gatherings. Just a week before I heard of his passing, I found myself in my kitchen remembering one particular incident. Uncle Remi loved hosting in those days, and during one of his parties, I asked for Baileys Irish Cream, then one of my favourites because of my love for sweet things. He called out loudly, “Pastor!” It was then that my attention was drawn to its alcohol content. That became the last time I drank it. Strangely, after all these years, that memory came back so vividly that I thought of writing about it. I did not know that Uncle Remi was about to transit. Today, that simple memory has become precious. Uncle Remi, thank you for the laughter, friendship and memories. You will be deeply missed. May God strengthen and preserve Jumoke and the children. Rest well, Barrister Andrew Aderemi Daniel. — Dr. Oyindamola Okenla

He wasn’t just my friend’s husband. He was family. Her Priest, her Provider, her Protector, the one who showed up, who made her laugh, who loved her fiercely and well. I thank God for the memories we all carry. I watched him be a husband, a partner, and a best friend to Jumsy (as I call my besti.) Uncle Remi had a rare way of making everyone feel welcome at his table, safe in his home, and loved without question. I remember feeling so welcomed at his home, when I stayed with his family during one of my hospital fertility visits to Lagos, or could I ever forget how recently, uncle Remi intervened and sorted out a problem in my home that would have turned fatal. Hmmmmm, God loaned us a good man. A man who loved not only my friend, but all of us, around her. Today we grieve, but we also thank God for the years, the laughter, and the love he gave. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. And may God comfort my friend, her children and all those he left behind with the same peace that carried him, in Jesus name Amen.

I am just so overwhelmed by this tragedy. Don't know what to say, except that, Uncle Remai ,ur sudden passing has thrown us all into mourning, especially my friend, your wife. You deserved to live and reap the fruits of you labour, but God knows best. And so, rest on in the bossom of the Lord. My prayer is that God consoles my friend and the Children that you left behind and provides for them. Amen.
