Chapter 3 ·
Family
It was during his time at the University of Lagos that Aderemi first saw the woman who would become his wife. Even though she was sixteen years old at the time, he knew in his heart that Olajumoke Ero-Phillips was meant for him. He carried that conviction quietly for sixteen years before returning to her. Their courtship was brief — less than a year — and in 1997, they married. God blessed their union with three cherished children: Ademide, Oluwakorede, and Oluwasayo. Together, they built a home filled with love, warmth, and devotion to God — a home where friends and relatives often stayed for days, months, and even years. Aderemi was deeply hospitable, a gracious host who made everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for. He loved music and was a great dancer. He loved football and was a dedicated Arsenal fan. His laughter, warmth, and ability to make people feel at home were among his most memorable qualities.
